5 Players Who You Can Consider Dropping!

The Fantasy Playoffs are fast approaching, and now is the time to start preparing your rosters for the long haul. That means looking at defenses that have great matchups in weeks 14, 15, and 16, making last-minute trade offers if your trade deadline hasn't passed, and dropping dead weight from your team. This article will identify some decently rostered players that you can consider dropping to make room on your bench. I wish you all a Happy Holidays and a Merry Fantasy Playoffs. Now, let's get into it!

Devin Singletary

Devin finished his 2019 campaign strong but has struggled this year, mainly because rookie Zack Moss has received a larger than expected role and has been involved in the RedZone. This left Devin Singletary as a running back with limited touchdown upside, minimal use in the passing game (12 Catches in the last 7 games), and a limited amount of carries a game. Devin received 17 total carries in the past three contests, much too low a number to be trusted in any fantasy lineups. Moss was absent from the lineup in weeks 3, 4, and 5 with a toe injury, and during those 3 weeks, Singletary was the RB22 in PPR leagues averaging 13 points per game. However, since Moss' return in week 6, Singletary is the RB46. For Devin to have value, he would need an injury to backfield mate Zack Moss, and even with an injury to Moss, you would only gain a low-end RB in Singletary. Singletary currently has no ceiling and much too low a floor to be a starting consideration. He is not a must drop, but I would not hesitate to move on from Devin if you need to pick somebody up.

Jonnu Smith

Jonnu Smith started the 2020 season red hot, scoring five touchdowns in his first four games with at least 4 grabs in every game during that period. Yet, what a player does in the first month of the season does not always translate to the rest of the season. Since week 6, Jonnu is averaging 1.7 catches a game and has failed to top 40 yards in any contest. Compound this drastic drop-off in production with a knee injury that has already officially knocked him out for week 13, and you have a player that has no reason being on your fantasy roster. If Jonnu comes back in week 14 against the Jaguars and receives a consistent target volume, then he may be worth picking up off the waiver wire. However, for now, that is precisely where Jonnu Smith belongs, the waiver wire.

Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown

Why...ON EARTH, are these guys still rostered in 68% and 33% of ESPN leagues. WHY?! Without an injury to one of the three backs in the Rams backfield, there is no way any of them can be trusted in starting lineups. Over the past 4 weeks, neither Henderson nor Brown has topped 10 carries or 2 receptions in any contest. With rookie Cam Akers rushing 9 times for 84 yards and a touchdown in last week's battle with the 49ers, it's possible that McVay and Co. could begin to make the transition to Akers as the bellcow. All three backs are involved in the offense, and as a result, all three eat into each other's fantasy value. Akers is the only Rams running back that should be a roster consideration, as he has the highest chance to assume the lead role in the backfield based off of his draft capital and talent.

Adrian Peterson

Ok, look, I completely understand taking a shot on him in week 12. He was the top option in the backfield, and he had a mouth-watering matchup with the Texans. However, with rookie star D'Andre Swift set to return soon from his multi-week absence and a matchup with the stalwart Chicago Bears run defense on tap in week 13, there is no reason to hold on to "All Day." Looking back to Peterson's production with Swift as the lead back, he scored 3, 1, 6, and 3 fantasy points respectively in PPR leagues (from week 7-10). Last week's 2 touchdown performance was lovely, but the ride is over. Time to let go of the future Hall of Famer and target higher upside options for your roster.

All Eagles Wide Receivers

I don't care what their name is; if they play wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, drop them with confidence. The offensive line is decimated, the coaching has been abysmal, and Carson Wentz has shown no signs that he can sustain any consistent offense in the last few weeks. In last week's game against the Seattle Seahawks, who rank last in the league in passing defense and give up nearly 329 passing yards per game, Travis Fulgham led Eagles wide receivers with 2 catches for 16 yards. While Travis Fulgham was a waiver wire gem for fantasy owners earlier in the season, owners must stay water. Fulgham has had 3 straight dud games and is clearly no longer a focal point of the offense. Carson Wentz is broken. This offense is broken. This system is broken. The only players worth rostering for Philadelphia are Miles Sanders, Dallas Goedert, Zach Ertz if you want to take a shot, and Boston Scott only as a low-end handcuff. Drop all wideouts from Philidelphia ASAP.

Key Takeaways from Week 5 & Key Takeaways from Adulting

Honestly, my least favorite part of adulting might be my growing amount of responsibilities that happen to occur on a Sunday. I miss college when I could go to the gym on a Tuesday at noon or get a haircut on a Thursday at 2 PM. It made it so much easier to relax on the weekends and focus on things like football and going out. Now that I've settled into the 9-5 life, I spend my weekends doing all the things I don't have time to do during the week anymore. It's honestly demoralizing and makes me realize how good I used to have it in school. But it also makes me that much more grateful for the sacrifices that some parents have to make when their child is growing up. I can't imagine going to work all day and then coming home to deal with parenting. Cooking for MULTIPLE people? Changing diapers? Using my brain to help with Homework? I know I'm speaking from a young mind here but that frankly just sounds unsustainable. Point is, make sure to tell your parents/guardians t

Sunday Blues & Predictions

This past Sunday, I woke up at 9 am and watched highlights of Arian Foster and Tyler Eifert..... yeah, that's how bad it is without the NFL in my life. BUT, even though I'm not able to watch NFL football, I still sure as hell can do a job I'm not qualified for and predict where some of this year's free agents will be landing!  Predicting free agents is a lot like predicting how a spring break weekend will go. You develop all these expectations about how cool and sexy these fun new memories will be, only to be disappointed when you have the exact same experience you had the year prior. Most high profile free-agents will unfortunately end up back where they played their last season, but WHAT IF.... What if this year Tyla finally invites you to a private party on her yacht? What if Kirk Cousins forms a new contender in Georgia?  Let's get into the predictions: Calvin Ridley -- WR (29 Years Old) My Prediction -- Tennessee Titans Calvin enters free agency with a 1,000-ya

Rookie Running Back Fever

Rookies are amongst the hardest players to predict during the preseason. These Freshman have never played a snap in the NFL, making it very difficult for analysts to make projections for the regular season. This means that deciding when to select these rookies depends on your assessment of the risk versus the reward. In this forum I will give a analysis of each of the rookie running backs that I believe have a clear path to being fantasy relevant this upcoming season. Saquon Barkley [Can't Trend Any Higher] - The number 2 overall pick out of Penn State has immense potential for opportunity with the New York Giants. The Giants have a revamped offensive line with the additions of Nate Solder, Patrick Omameh, and Will Hernandez. They have a deep passing attack with superstar Odell Beckham flanked by Sterling Shepherd and Evan Engram, and they have a competent quarterback in Eli Manning. Barkley possesses the pass-catching ability that you love to see in a workhorse back; someone wh
